In Store

Entrance to our store has a 3 inch lift from the sidewalk. Our door is 30 inches wide and not automatic.
In the warmer months, the door is propped open. When the door is closed, our staff are happy to assist. Please give us a call at 780-435-0538 if you require assistance.
We have a single occupancy washroom in the back of our store with a door that is 28 inches wide. Inside we have a grab rail and sink at 35 inches height from the ground. The toilet seat is 16 inches from the ground. The washroom is open to the public.
We have snacks on hand for those who have low blood sugar or need something to eat. They are openly available and you do not need to ask for them.
Our point of sale counter is 37 inches high. We have seating available throughout the shop. Throughout the store we have several tables with book displays that are 35 inches high.
Our floor is slightly uneven towards the middle. There is a small drop of a few inches with a ramp.
COVID19: We provide free masks to anyone who would like one.

Delivery

We offer free delivery within Edmonton, St. Albert, and Sherwood Park for orders over $25. The minimum purchase for free delivery is waived for those with health/mobility issues. No justification needed, just use code: HMDLVRY

Bus Routes

Magpie Books is near bus stops 2344, 2132, and 2169. Bus routes 525 and 501 run at these stops.

Parking

There is street parking along 76th avenue that is free. There is also a parking lot on the corner of 76 AVE and 96 ST.

Events

Depending on the event we are hosting, there may be a ticket price. Any paid event will have a sliding scale ($0-$15+). This allows our events to remain accessible to anyone. We encourage folks to consult a sliding scale guide to see where they should be. Here is an example of such a guide. If there is a potential cost to an event, this will be made aware in the posting.

Space Usage

Magpie would love to host community events, such as book readings, art builds, clothing drives, workshops, protest sign-making, and so much more! Our space is small but mighty! Depending on the event, there may be a small fee to ensure our staff member present is compensated and contribute to our overhead costs.
